Name: Ms. Ren (aka Renell Hardtmayer) Age: Let's just say I have a slot at the front end of the baby boom. Occupation: Innkeeper, proprietor and omelette queen at the Jeremiah B. King Guesthouse, 272 N. Main St. How long have you lived or worked in Hudson? I have lived and worked here for 10 years. What is your favorite thing to do in Hudson? Serving as an un-official ambassador to all who visit our town and stay with me. How would you describe Hudson to someone who has never been here? A highly energized, talented and politically astute community. One that also serves as dog central and kid central and it doesn't get better than that. What would you do if you were city manager for a day? The only complaint I hear, ad nauseam, is the moaning about traffic on Main Street / Route 91 between 3:15 and 6:15 p.m. on weekdays ... perhaps leave lights on green longer? What do you like to do in your free time? Indulge. Are you a member of any clubs or organizations? The only ones who don't do a background check are the Chamber, First Congregational Church and the PTO. What is your favorite movie and favorite television show? Movie tie: "Defending Your Life" with Albert Brooks and Meryl Streep and "Dead Again" with Emma Thompson and Kenneth Branagh. TV: "Lie to Me," "The Office," "Fringe" and "Pawn Stars." What is the last book you read? I know you mean GOOD book. "GhostWalk" by Rebecca Stout. The book challenges the validity of Isaac Newton's chair at Cambridge. What is your favorite vacation spot? Florence, Italy and Lake Michigan in July. Whom do you admire most, excluding relatives? That would be Tom Vince -- a true gentleman and a scholar unrivaled. Compiled by Dorothy Markulis Editor's note: If you know someone who would be a good candidate for "Hello Hudson" please e-mail dmarkulis@recordpub.com or call 330-686-3943. Comments
