by Laura Freeman, reporter When I go to the grocery store, I expect to see barcodes. Those black and white lines on every product allow it to be rung up at the register. Recently, I was waving my groceries over the scanner, listening for the annoying blip that would tell me it had successfully scanned, when I looked up to the checkout next to mine. A woman was scanning her produce, but what I noticed was the barcode; the one tattooed on the back of her neck. At first I thought she was a product waiting to be scanned. Then I remembered a TV show, "Dark Angel," that only lasted two years but launched Jessica Alba's career. Her character, Max, had a barcode on the back of her neck, just like this woman. In the show, Max was able to remove her tattoo with a pill or shot that made it disappear. That made me wonder if anyone ever regretted getting a tattoo. I have a feeling there are a lot of people with "23" tattooed on their bodies in Northeast Ohio. Others may have "LeBron." What can former fans do now that they are wearing "tattoos non grata?" The 3 can easily be turned into an 8. So what player is number 28? I looked it up and there is no 28 on the current Cavaliers roster. Sounds like a great promotional opportunity. A new player who takes number 28 will have a built-in fan base with all those who have changed their tattoos. "Go, 28, whoever you are!" Now comes the harder tattoo purification. The name could be changed to EmiLEBRONte for the women or literary scholars. Yes, before you protect, I know Emily is spelled with a "Y" but work with me. For those who want to go cultural or French try LEBRONtasaurus and add a tattoo of a cute dinosaur. It could be stomping Cleveland to rubble. Oh, wait, didn't LeBron already do that?
