Summer Camps for children offered at Hope Community Church

Hope Community Church is hosting exciting summer camps for all children from kindergarten through sixth grade. Science Camp is July 12-16 from 9 a.m. -1 p.m. There will be experiments with hot air balloons, chromatography, density, bubbles and more.

While exploring with chemistry, physics and biology, children will be able to see God's hand in all parts of science.

A daily devotional time will help children grow in their relationship with God. Children bring their own lunch Monday to Thursday with a pizza party on Friday.

Totally Terrific Tuesdays (mini camps) will be July 20 or 27 and Aug. 3 or 17 from 10 a.m. -12:30 p.m. Children can select 2 different activities each day from building a bird house, cooking, learning to play chess, scrapbooking, arts & crafts, outdoor survival, volleyball, baking, learning sign language, and baseball/tball. There will also be a devotional time and snack provided.

Hope Community Church installs new
co-senior pastor

Hope Community Church is having a special installation service for Pastor Jeff Schofield, who has been asked to join our church staff as Co-Senior Pastor with the church's founding Senior Pastor Jerry Witt.

Pastor Schofield came with the church group that planted the church 18 years ago. He served as the church's first Youth Pastor for seven years and then as Associate Pastor until July 2003 when the church sent him to plant a new church in Athens.

Pastor Schofield has served there as founding pastor for the following seven years and the congregation now averages 160 people per Sunday.

They have reached out and served the community in numerous ways plus helped restore broken lives. Pastor Schofield along with his wife, Christy, son, Paul, and daughter, Jenna, have moved back to the Hudson area. The Rev. Jeff Miller, Superintendent of the Central District of the Christian and Missionary Alliance, will install Pastor Schofield July 11 during the 10 a.m. service.

Bailey Road Christian Church

Vacation Bible School will be presented from July 18-22 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The theme will be, "Son Harvest Country Fair." Preschool through 6th grade are welcome. Program includes Bible stories, crafts, games, songs and snacks. Bailey Road Christian Church is located at 3200 W. Bailey Road, Cuyahoga Falls. Call 330-929-2527.

Hudson Community Chapel

Hudson Community Chapel, 750 W. Streetsboro St. in Hudson, offers English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classes for all ages on Sunday afternoons and Tuesday mornings. The summer session began June 27 and runs for eight weeks. The cost of the program is $15. Call 330-289-7570 for more information.

Vacation Bible Schools

Christ Church,
Presbyterian Church

Set in the expansive African savannah, "The Baobab Blast" is a community wide Vacation Bible School program hosted by Christ Church Episcopal and the Presbyterian Church of Hudson at 21 Aurora St.

The Vacation Bible School will be July 12 through 16 from 9:30 a.m. to noon for children age 3 through those in third grader. "The Baobab Blast" uses the African savannah as a setting for children to explore connections with God, family, friends, others and the world.

Hudson
Presbyterian Church

The Hudson Presbyterian Church, at the corner of state Route 303 and Boston Mills, invites children to join jungle guides through five parables of Jesus at SonQuest Rainforest Vacation Bible School July 12 through 16 from 9 a.m. to noon.

They will trek through the rainforest for Bible lessons, crafts, games, snacks and music.

Rejoice Lutheran

Rejoice Lutheran Church will host Vacation Bible School for all children, preschool through fifth grade, Aug. 2 to 6 from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Participants will visit ancient Egypt to learn about Joseph's journey from prison to palace. Activities include daily lesso

ns, crafts, drama, snacks and games. The cost is $5 per child.
