Hudson - The owner of the Hilltop Motel on Ravenna Road was arrested and charged with drug trafficking May 7. According to a press release from Hudson Communications Manager Jody Roberts, the hotel’s owner Jitendra H. Kapasi, 56, of Kent and Bryan Gagat, 26, who police say lived at the hotel, were arrested and charged with several drug trafficking offenses by officers from the police departments of Hudson, Twinsburg and the Metro SWAT team. Both men were being held in Summit County Jail May 10 after being arraigned in Stow Municipal Court. They had not posted bond, which was set at $500,000 for Kapasi and $50,000 for Gagat, according to Hudson Police Lt. Kevin May. Prescription drugs including Vicodin, Oxycodone, OxyContin, Percocet and Methadone were seized from the hotel, May said. The two were arrested at the Hilltop Motel, 7870 Ravenna Road, after a three-month undercover investigation, Roberts said. Roberts said the investigation began after “several anonymous complaints of [alleged] illegal drug activities taking place at the motel.” Also involved in the investigation were the Ohio State Fire Marshal’s office, The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, the Summit County Health Department, the city of Hudson code enforcement department and the city of Twinsburg building departments.
