Republicans Gloria J. Rodgers of Stow, William Roemer of Richfield and Amy Schwan of Akron will face Democratic Summit County Council incumbents Pete Crossland, Jon Poda and Ilene Shapiro for the three at-large seats up for election in November.

According to final but unofficial results from the Summit County Board of Elections, Republican voters on May 4 picked Rodgers (13,711 or 26.5 percent), Roemer (12,711 or 24.6 percent) and Schwan (13,577 or 26.3 percent) over Mendy F. Palumbo of Barberton (11,693 or 22.6 percent) for the three available spots on the fall ballot.

Rodgers is the District 3 representative on County Council, serving Hudson, Stow and parts of Cuyahoga Falls and Silver Lake. Her term expires at the end of 2012.

Voters in November will also elect two judges to the Summit County Court of Common Pleas and three judges to the Ohio Ninth District Court of Appeals. All judicial candidates were unopposed for their parties' nominations.
