Nationals coming to Cleveland USA Wrestling recently announced the 2010 and 2011 United States Senior National Wrestling Championships and the Men’s FILA Junior National Championships have been awarded to Cleveland. The U.S. Senior Nationals will move to Cleveland from Las Vegas. The Greater Cleveland Sports Commission, in conjunction with USA Wrestling, will host this year’s event April 21-25 at the Wolstein Center at Cleveland State University. The U.S. Senior National Wrestling Championships feature the nation’s top wrestlers in the three Olympic styles: men’s freestyle, women’s freestyle and Greco-Roman. The men’s FILA Junior National Championships include the nation’s top athletes who are 17-20 years old, competing in freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling. Up to 850 athletes are expected to participate in the two competitions that weekend, with more than $850,000 expected to be infused into the local economy. Basketball offered The Combat in the Country Basketball Tournament for Amateur Athletic Union and travel teams is scheduled for April 9 through 11 for girls and April 30-May 2 for boys at the Cloverleaf Recreation Center in Lodi. The Grizzly Games Basketball Tournament for AAU/travel teams is set for April 9-11 (boys) and April 30-May 2 (girls) at Wadsworth High School.
