The fourth annual Run for the Orphans has been set for April 17. The 5K Trail Run/Walk, beginning at Seton School on Stow Road in Hudson, will wind through Hudson Springs Park and end back at the school. Funds raised from this springtime Hudson run will benefit three orphanages and a local home for children.

Hudson's orphanage in Kitwe, Zambia, supported by Children of Ubumi, is the global outreach for Seton School. Also benefitting from the Run is the Children's Home of Hope in Ghana, sponsored by Hershey's and the Orphan's Prayer. Newly added is Destiny Village in Haiti, sponsored by The Dwelling Place Church in Hudson. Locally, Berea Children's Home, which benefits 11,200 children and families in Northeast Ohio, will also benefit from the funds.

A 1-mile Fun Run for Kids will precede the 5K Run/Walk. To ensure receiving a complimentary long sleeve T-shirt, runners are encouraged to register online at active.com using the keyword: Run for the Orphans Hudson.

When registering, runners can allocate their run fee to the orphanage of their choice.

Registrations will also be accepted on the race day, although a T-shirt cannot be guaranteed.
