Chefs from top Cleveland restaurants will cook at a benefit for the family of Jeff Jarrett, executive chef at Hudson's North End, on March 22 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the Cleveland Sight Center, 1909 E. 101st St. in Cleveland.

The Jarrett family is in the process of adopting a blind orphan girl from China, who they named Jewel. Chef Jarrett's peers in Northeast Ohio decided to help the family with the costs, which could be as much as $25,000, through a fundraiser -- "The Best Cleveland Chefs: Cooking to Bring Jewel Home."

The cost is $25 for adults, $10 for children 4 to 12. Make reservations by calling 330-353-4991.

Jeff and his wife, Tammy, who have three sons, adopted a girl with special needs from China in 2007. They are hoping to adopt another girl who was born without eyes/blind and was abandoned by her family when she was one month old. She is now living in an orphanage in China.

"Jeff has been fortunate to have friends, local Cleveland area chefs, who have offered to help us get closer to our final goal by cooking for a fundraiser dinner," Tammy said. "We are so thankful to them.."
