High School Choir performs March 9

The Hudson High School Mid-Winter Choir Concert, directed by Amy Foulkes, will be March 9 at 8 p.m. in the Hudson High School auditorium.

Door open at 6 for Tressel presentation

Ticket holders for the Community First 7 p.m. presentation on March 8 at Hudson High School auditorium by The Ohio State University Head Football Coach Jim Tressel must bring their tickets to be admitted into the presentation. No one will be admitted without a ticket to this sold-out event.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. with first-come, first-serve seating; $100 reception ticket holders should bring their tickets to the high school media center at 5:30 p.m. for admittance. A raffle for a signed Jim Tressel football will be held that evening. Tickets are $1 or six for $5.

School Board sets meeting for March 9

The Hudson Board of Education has moved its regularly scheduled meeting to March 9 at 7:30 p.m. in the high school media center. Previously, the meeting was scheduled for March 8. The Board made the decision to move its meeting to avoid a potential scheduling conflict with the reception to be held for Ohio State Football Coach Jim Tressel March 8.

Chamber orchestra
selling chocolate

The Hudson High School Chamber Orchestra is conducting a fundraising campaign with Malley's Chocolates of Cleveland to support the Chamber Orchestra's upcoming playing tour of Italy. The orchestra is an elite group of string players, ages 15 to 18. Under the direction of Roberto Iriarte, the Chamber Orchestra will represent Hudson and the U.S. at international music festivals in Florence and Rome in July.

To participate in the orchestra's fundraising campaign with Malley's Chocolates, visit www.hudsonmusic.org and click on the link to the Orchestra's Malley's Chocolates fund-raising Web page. Malley's full line of spring and Easter chocolates are included in the fundraiser and can be ordered online through midnight March 29. Orders can be shipped directly.

All purchases made through the fundraising link on the Hudson High School Music Association Web site will directly benefit the Chamber Orchestra's trip to Italy this summer.

'Lock-in' set
for March 14

The eighth-grade annual "Lock-in" will take place May 14 from 8 to 11:30 p.m. All eighth-graders attending Hudson Middle School are invited to attend this traditional end of the year party. The evening will include music, dancing, games, contest, prizes, food and beverages.

In order to make this party a success, nearly 175 volunteers will be needed. They may consider volunteering to work as a chaperone, help with set up, run games, serve food, etc. The planning committee is accepting donations of cash, gift cards, movie passes, merchandise, tickets to sporting events, electronics, etc. to be awarded as prizes.

Also needed are photos of any eighth-grader participating in school activities such as plays, concerts and sporting events. Photo submissions may be dropped off at the middle school main office where a "Lock-in" box is provided.
