Walsh loses The Walsh Jesuit ice hockey team lost a 5-2 decision to Gates Mills Gilmour in a district semifinal contest March 2 at Kent State University Ice Arena. Hudson resident Victor LeVasseur scored for Walsh and Hudson resident Daniel Filice had an assist. Walsh posted a 4-3 overtime victory over Chagrin Falls Kenston Feb. 27 at Kent State. Hudson resident George Wright sealed the win for Walsh with a goal 10 seconds into the extra frame. Wright finished with two goals on the afternoon. LeVasseur had the assist on Wright’s game-winning goal. Burke places third Hudson graduate David Burke, a senior on the Denison University men’s track and field team, earned All-North Coast Athletic Coast honors in the pentathlon during the NCAC multi-event competition Feb. 27 in Granville. The pentathlon consisted of 55-meter hurdles, long jump, shot put, high jump and the 1,000-meter run. Burke finished third with 2,878 points.
