Hudson -- Pending certification by the Summit County Board of Elections, the Hudson City School District's 5.9-mill continuos operating levy will be on the May ballot.

The school district filed the levy petition with the Summit County Board of Elections prior to the 4 p.m. deadline Feb. 18, according to election officials.

If passed by voters, the 5.9-mill levy would bring in an additional $5.592 million. It would cost the owner of a $100,000 home approximately $181 per year, the owner of a $200,000 home $361 per year, and the owner of a $300,000 home $542 per year.

Voters last approved a school operating levy in 2006 when they supported a 5.5-mill levy, which brings in $5 million annually.
