Police say woman drove drunk with child in car

Hudson -- Police arrested a 42-year-old Hudson woman for allegedly driving while intoxicated after picking up her 5-year-old from a Ravenna Street child care center Feb. 12.

The woman was charged with misdemeanor child endangering, operating a vehicle under the influence and not staying in marked lanes.

According to police, an employee of the child care center called to report a "disoriented parent was picking up her child" shortly before 5:45 p.m.

Police stopped the woman, who allegedly had a .17 blood alcohol content breathalyzer. According to Ohio law .08 is the legal limit.

The woman was arrested, taken to the police station and later released on bond.

Hit skip

Feb. 10. Car allegedly skips out after accident: A 34-year-old Hudson woman told police that a driver allegedly hit the rear of her 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse at Hines Hill Road, just west of state Route 91. She said the man drove away without stopping. A short time later Twinsburg Police saw a car matching the description of the other driver at a nearby hardware store. Police said the car, a 2006 Toyota Tacoma, had no reported damage. The man was cited for hit skip.

Possession of marijuana

Feb. 10. Possible pot found after pullover: A 19-year-old Akron woman was stopped by police around 12:45 a.m. for speeding on West Streetsboro Street. Police said they found a small amount of suspected marijuana in a plastic bag. She was cited for possession of marijuana, speeding and released.

Domestic violence

Feb. 9. Woman charged after fight: A 28-year-old Hudson woman was charged with domestic violence after police alleged she bruised her mother's arm and neck during an altercation. Police were responding to a 7:15 a.m. call at the West Streetsboro Street residence. The 28-year-old was arrested, taken to the police station and was released on bond.

Theft

Jan. 21. Price swapping alleged: An employee of a West Streetsboro Street shop told police that two people were in the store attempting to return purchased items and "price swapping." The man and woman denied trying to steal anything and were asked by police to leave the store. No charges were filed.

Jan. 29. Credit card used without permission: A 40-year-old Macedonia man told police that someone had used his Visa credit card to make more than $150 in purchases. Police are investigating. There are no suspects.
