First Congregational serves pancakes The First Congregational Church of Hudson, 47 Aurora St., will host pancake breakfasts after the 9 and 10:45 a.m. services Feb. 7. They will benefit the church's Appalachian Service Project. The church's senior high students travel to the Appalachian area for one week in June to provide vital housing services to low-income families. The goal of ASP is to make homes warmer, safer and drier while offering transformational experiences for volunteers and homeowners. For more information, call 330-650-4048. Hope to host Hope Community Church, 3033 Middleton Road in Hudson, will host Praise-Apella at a Valentine's Day concert Feb. 14 at 7 p.m. General admission tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. VIP tickets are $35 each and include a copy of Praise-Apella's" Love God" CD, up-front seating and dinner (Italian cuisine by Angelina's) at 6 p.m. Comedian and 95.5 the Fish Radio Personality Mark Rein will be a special guest. Hudson Presbyterian hosts potluck dinners On Wednesdays during Lent, the Hudson Presbyterian Church, at 201 W. Streetsboro St., will host potluck dinners at 6:30 p.m. in Fellowship Hall each week. After dinner children, youth and adults will go their separate ways for a time of study and growth, except on Ash Wednesday Feb. 17, when all will gather for worship at 7:30 p.m. This will be a reflective communion service with imposition of ashes. Make reservations for dinner by calling the church office at 330-650-1626. The church's Adult Bible Study will be on the Apostolic Prayers included in the New Testament Epistles. All are welcome. Moms meet Feb. 9 Moms Together will meet Feb. 9 from 9:15 to 11:15 a.m. at Hudson Community Chapel, 750 W. Streetsboro St. Carla Gasser, speaker, servant of Christ, wife and mother to four children will lead the group through ad time of rejuvenation. This month's topic is "Sanity Savers: Finding a Moment for Yourself." There is no registration fee for this meeting, and childcare is available at a cost of $1 per child. Women's conference planned for March 20 Grace Presbyterian Church will offer its 2010 Women's Conference March 20 at Sheraton Suites, 1989 Front St. in Cuyahoga Falls. The event will feature speaker Susan Hunt, an author, mother of three and grandmother of 12 who has served as director of Women In Church (WIC) for the Presbyterian Church in America. Hunt is the author of numerous books and completed a three-year discipleship curriculum on biblical womanhood for teen girls. Registration begins at 8 a.m. March 20, and the event runs until 3 p.m. The cost is $50 per person, which includes continental breakfast and lunch.
