Moran announces
re-election bid

State Rep. Mike Moran (D-Hudson) on Feb. 1 announced he will run for a second term in the Ohio House of Representatives in the 2010 election.

No one had officially filed for the District 42 race as of Feb. 2, according to the Summit County Board of Elections. The deadline to file for the May 4 primary is Feb. 18 at 4 p.m.

Moran represents the 42nd Ohio House District seat. The district includes the cities of Cuyahoga Falls, Hudson, Munroe Falls, Silver Lake and Stow.

"I've worked hard to represent Summit County in the state Legislature," said Moran, 45. "My first year has gone quickly, and I'm eager to continue listening to my constituents and working on their behalf."

Ohio Speaker of the House Armond Budish was on hand to support Moran's re-election kickoff.

Rep. Moran announced his re-election bid at an event in Cuyahoga Falls also attended by Stow Mayor Karen Fritschel, former Stow Mayor Don Coughlin, Cuyahoga Falls Council President Diana Colavecchio, Cuyahoga Falls council members Vince Rubino and Don Walters, and former Hudson Mayor John Krum, among other local public officials.
