Hudson -- A 2006 Ford truck was reported stolen from the driveway of a Beckwith Drive residence New Year's Eve. According to the police report, the unlocked $20,000 vehicle was parked in the driveway. The keys were not in the vehicle. The vehicle was recovered the next day by the Streetsboro Police Department on Muriel Drive. Missing from the vehicle were a $120 global positioning system, credit cards and identification. Two other residents, one on Beckwith Drive and one on Colony Drive, reported their unlocked vehicles were entered the same night. The Colony Drive resident said $13 in coins and a $20 global position system cord were removed. Nothing was reported missing from the other Beckwith Drive vehicle. An investigation is pending. Theft Jan. 4. Bank deposit stolen: An employee of a beauty salon on West Streetsboro Street said a bank bag containing a $362.82 deposit was taken from an unlocked file cabinet in an unlocked office sometime between Dec. 28 and 30. According to the report, there were no signs of forced entry. Jan. 4. Computer taken: An employee of an Owen Brown Street business said a $1,000 Dell laptop computer was stolen from the office sometime between Dec. 25 and Jan. 4. According to the police report, there were no signs of forced entry. Jan. 4. Wallet stolen: A 67-year-old man staying at a Ravenna Road motel said his wallet was missing after a woman visited his room at 4:45 a.m. He said the $50 wallet contained $10 and identification cards. Dec. 29. Theft by deception: A Thirty Acres Drive resident said he paid a Parma Heights man $1,737 for building repair work that was never started. An investigation is pending. Discharging fireworks Jan. 1. Man sets off fireworks: A Church Street man was warned by police after he was observed setting off fireworks in the street shortly after midnight. On Jan. 4, a female resident of the same residence was observed setting off fireworks at 8 p.m. She also was warned by police. No charges were filed in either incident. Burglary Jan. 3. Snowblower stolen: A Nicholson Drive resident said his $300 Craftsmen snowblower was removed from his open garage sometime between 1 and 5 p.m. Jan. 3. Beer taken: A Pinebrook Drive resident told police he found a teenage male taking beer from his garage refrigerator shortly after midnight. According to the police report, the teen fled, jumping into a dark blue SUV. Loss was estimated at $5. Disorderly conduct Dec. 24. Intoxicated man found: An officer on patrol saw a Hudson man walking on College Street near Division Street at 3:34 a.m. bleeding from cuts on his face. The officer stopped the 27-year-old man, who appeared to be intoxicated, according to the police report. EMS was called for a medical evaluation. The man was treated and released. Police cited the man for disorderly conduct -- intoxication. He was driven home by police and released to the custody of his mother. Drug possession Jan. 3. Hudson man arrested: A 22-year-old Hudson man was arrested and charged with two counts of drug possession at 4:50 a.m. on Port Chester Drive. According to a police spokesperson, the man was in a vehicle parked on the street and was acting suspiciously when a patrol car passed by. He did not have prescriptions for two medications found in his possession. He was taken to Summit County Jail. His vehicle was towed. Identity theft Jan 2. Siblings' identities stolen: A Trumbull Drive woman said someone used her personal information to make $300 in unauthorized credit card charges and had attempted to open several accounts in her name. She said two of her brothers also were victims of identity theft. According to a police spokesperson, a burglary at her sister's home in Richmond, Va., sometime between Dec. 23 and 30 while her sister was visiting in Hudson, provided burglars with personal information and Social Security numbers on the entire family. Both the Hudson and Richmond police departments are participating in the investigation.
