Hudson -- A 23-year-old Hudson man was arrested and charged with theft Dec. 24 after he allegedly stole two screen printers from a Darrow Road business where he was employed. The printers were valued at $200 each. The employee was taken to the Hudson Police Department. He was later released on a personal recognizance bond. Leaving the scene of an accident Dec. 24. Vehicle struck: A 54-year-old Hudson man said he was driving on Route 91 downtown when his vehicle was struck by a white compact car at 6:28 p.m. According to the police report, the driver of the white car did not stop after the crash. The owner of the damaged vehicle got the license number of offender's auto. After an investigation, the police cited a 21-year-old male for failure to stop after an accident. He was cited and released. Criminal trespassing Dec. 25. Man trespasses at Laurel Lake: A 55-year-old Cambridge man was asked to vacate the premises after he was found trespassing at 4:30 p.m. on the grounds of Laurel Lake Retirement Community. According to a police spokesperson, the offender had been warned before that he was not permitted to be on the premises. The man left. No charges were filed. Theft Dec. 26. Hooded sweatshirt, portable media player stolen: An 18-year-old Hudson student said his $40 sweatshirt and his $220 portable media player was stolen from the bleachers at Hudson High School Dec. 13 while he was playing basketball. Dec. 26. Theft from vehicle: A Hudson Commons Drive resident said his unlocked vehicle was entered during the night and a $200 portable media player was stolen. According to the police report, the vehicle was parked in a residential parking lot. Dec. 28. Santa Claus kidnapped: A Hudson-Aurora Road woman reported a $50 plastic Santa Claus was taken from her porch sometime during the night. Operating a vehicle while intoxicated Dec. 27. Chagrin Falls man charged: A 20-year-old Chagrin Falls man was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and underage consumption of alcohol at 3:49 a.m. According to a police spokesperson, the man was sitting in his vehicle in the middle of the intersection of routes 303 and 91 when he was approached by a police officer. He was taken to the Hudson Police Department and later released on a personal recognizance bond. His vehicle was towed. Disorderly conduct,
Dec. 22 and 27: One man keeps police busy: on Dec. 22 Police were called to a bar on Darrow Road Dec. 22 after 7:30 p.m. after a man, who appeared to be intoxicated, became loud and disrespectful to bar patrons. Police advised the man to leave. No charges were filed. At 11:40 p.m., police were called to an apartment on Hudson Commons Drive to remove the man from an apartment where he had been a guest. According to the police report, the owner of the apartment said the 29-year-old man refused to leave when he was asked to go. The man was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and trespassing. He was taken to the Hudson Police Department and later released on a bond. On Dec. 27 the police were called to the Hudson home of the man's parents shortly before 2 p.m. According to a police spokesperson, the man is accused of punching his father in the face, causing a bloody lip and scratches. The report indicated the father also had his finger bitten. The son was arrested and charged with domestic violence. He was taken to Summit County Jail.
