The son of Arlie and Marie Cross of Stow, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps after high school, following in the footsteps of his two brothers. He enjoyed golf, woodworking, reading and gardening, and also served for many years as a trustee at Stow Alliance Fellowship. Mr. Cross is survived by his wife of 53 years, Wanda Cross; seven daughters, Carolyn (Ron) Wallie, Robin (Tom) Halsey, Jennifer (Steve) Beale, Susan (Greg) Payne, Lisa (Tom) Vogt, Debbie (Bruce) Carpenter and Laurie (Roger) Wright; his brothers, Edwin (Tanis) Cross and Homer (Jane) Cross; sisters, Arleen (Ted) Shuman and Jean Theiss; 25 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Visitation and services were at Tallmadge Alliance Church with the Rev. John Wilson officiating. Memorials may be made to Tallmadge Alliance Church. Redmon Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
