The Score More Athletic Club Dominators basketball team was the runner-up at the University of Kentucky Widcat Memorial Day Showdown.
The team featured Hudson seventh-grade players Allison Baylor and Sydney Shanaberger. The Dominators scored victories over squads from Lexington, Louisville, Cincinnati and Birmingham (Ala.) en route to the championship game.
The team lost a 41-36 decision to Murphreesboro (Tenn.) in the title contest.
Thanks to their finish, the Dominators qualified for the Nike Grand Nationals. The team finished third at the national tournament which concluded June 28 in Cleveland.
The girls have played together for the last three years and have won 12 tournament championships.
The team is coached by Hudson resident Eric Shanaberger.
