DONAL 'JACK' DALEY Founder of National Pump and Process

Donal "Jack" Daley, 62, of Hudson died June 27, 2009, after a 14-year battle with multiple myeloma.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Frances Daley (nee Yeip) of Hudson; children, Matthew Daley (Salomeh) of Hermosa Beach, Calif., and Meghan Daley Reeves (Bradley) of Seven Lakes, N.C.; grandchildren, Isla and Jack Daley and Brandan Donal Reeves; and sister, Nancy Jane Daley Gordon (Barry G.) of Sanibel Island, Fla.

Mr. Daley was the founder and owner of National Pump and Process in Aurora. He attended Lehigh University and graduated from Case Western Reserve University. He was a consummate prankster with a dry sense of humor. He was part of the 1965 Cleveland Heights High state championship swim team, including the 400-yard freestyle relay team. Their relay record remains unbroken to this day. He was an avid boatsman who loved the "open seas" of Lake Erie. As He was a member of the Kelley's Island Fire-Lanes Society. He was the former educational coordinator and curator of the Witch's Castle for several years during the 1980s. He was known for his Independence Day pyrotechnics display and as a history aficionado, particularly on the subject of the Civil War and World War II.
