ANN MAZZOLA Ohio Bell Telephone operator for 35 years

Ann (nee Spurney) Mazzola, 89, of Solon and formerly of Twinsburg died June 12, 2009, at Solon Point at Emerald Ridge in Solon.

Mrs. Mazzola was employed by Ohio Bell Telephone Co. as an operator for 35 years. She was a member of the Ohio Bell Pioneers for 30 years. She loved and enjoyed cooking.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Santo A. Mazzola in 1986. She is survived by her son, Richard (Doris) Spurney of Hudson; grandchildren, Lisa (Kurt) Chapple of Lakewood and Susan (Justin) Smith of Stow; and great-grandchild, Sarah Smith.

Arrangements are being handled by Johnson-Romito Funeral Home. A memorial gathering for family and friends is set for June 20 from 1 to 2 p.m. at Johnson Romito Funeral Home in Hudson followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m.
