Lisa Manley Thomas, 53, of Granville, Ohio, formerly of Hudson, died May 30, 2009, at her home surrounded by her family after a three-year battle with brain cancer.
Mrs. Thomas graduated from Hudson High School in 1974. She was a graduate of the Ohio State University where she received a bachelor's degree in French and a master's degree in education. She taught school for 21 years, most recently fifth grade. She was loved by her students and her fellow teachers.
She was an avid reader and a devotee of the French culture.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Frances Manley. She is survived by her father, John J. Manley of DePere, Wis.; husband, Alfred Thomas; daughters, Christen and Angela; brothers, John F. Manley and Timothy E. Manley of Hudson; sisters, Moira Manley of Granville and Deborah Manley of Santa Rosa, Calif.; niece, Caroline Manley of Hudson; and nephews, Liam Manley, Dylan Manley and Evan Manley of Hudson, and Patrick Quintana of Granville.
A service in celebration of her life and faith was at Centenary United Methodist Church in Granville. A video tribute of her life may be seen at www.mcpeekhoekstra.com.
Burial was at Markillie/St. Mary Cemetery in Hudson.
