MAUREEN HART WOOD 32-year Hudson resident

Maureen Hart Wood, 75, of Davidson, N.C., formerly of Hudson, died June 2, 2009 after hard fought battle with cancer.

She was a resident of Hudson for 32 years. She moved to Davidson, N.C., after losing most of what she owned in the flood that hit her first floor residence at the Versailles in 2003. She had a long career in sales at some of the finer establishments in Hudson and enjoyed the interaction with many residents here in town.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Wood. She is survived by her son, Paul Wood and wife Kimberly of Hudson, and their children Tyler, Erin and Travis; daughter, Colleen Wood of Quincy, Mass.; and son, Patrick Wood and his wife Karen of Davidson, N.C., and their children Mareike and Courtney; brother, John Hart of Salisbury N.C; and sisters, Patricia Whiteacre of Arlington, Texas, and Kay Hudak of Kingswood, Texas.

A memorial service will be at a later date in Davidson.
