Montessori to host Pumpkin Patch Oct. 18

Hudson Montessori School, 7545 Darrow Road, will host its annual Pumpkin Patch Fall Festival from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 18 at the school grounds on Darrow Road. It includes children's games, pumpkin and mum sales, and a cash raffle. Admission and parking are free. For more information, call 330-650-0424.

'A Night to Remember' scheduled for Oct. 18

Seton's annual "A Night to Remember," titled Seton Safari, will be at The Signature of Solon Oct. 18 at 6 p.m. It is the first year the event will be off-site.

"We have simply outgrown our facility," explained Becky Susany who, with April Baratian, co-chair the event.

"The number of guests now exceeds our ability to comfortably accommodate them at the school," Susany said.

Beginning at 6 p.m., guests can enjoy an open wine and beer bar, hors d'oeuvres, silent and live auctions, a sit-down dinner and live African music. A licensed auctioneer will conduct live auctions.

There also will be a grand prize raffle for a golfing trip for eight to Marriott's Shadow Ridge Resort in Palm Desert, Calif.

Additional raffles include a tuition raffle and a "1-100 Raffle" for the live auction item of the winner's choice.

Event tickets are $65 per person. Tables for eight or 10 guests may be purchased at a discounted price.

Cashiers will accept cash, check or credit cards for payment following the auctions that evening.

For ticket information, call Seton Catholic School at 330-342-4200 ext. 225.

Students invited
to enter art program

The Hudson Parent Teacher Association annual Reflections Art Program invites students in grades kindergarten through 12 to submit their artistic creations. No experience is necessary to participate in the contest.

This theme of this year's contest is: "Wow!" Students are encouraged to use their imaginations to express what "Wow!" means to them. They may write a story, essay or poem, paint or draw a picture, take photographs, shoot a video, compose music, or choreograph a dance routine.

Participation in the Reflections Program is organized by grade level, and student works are critiqued against others in the same grade division.

Entries will be accepted through Oct. 31 and may be dropped off at collection boxes in all school offices. Information has been sent home with students, but can also be downloaded from the PTA's Web site at
www.hudson-pta.org.

The Reflections Art Show will be at the Hudson library Dec. 4.

For more information, call Amy Roos at 330-962-4292 or e-mail her at aroos@hudson-pta.org.

Students can donate birthday books

For the past several years, the libraries of the Hudson elementary schools have been the beneficiaries of the Parent Teacher Organization Birthday Book Club. The club is a parent-funded program which adds student selected books to the libraries' shelves throughout the school year.

Students select new books to donate to the school's library during their birthday months for a fee of $15. There is a permanent Birthday Book Club bookplate inscription to commemorate the contribution with the student's name and birth date. The students are given an enrollment certificate and a bookmark, and are first to check out the new book.

The first run of Birthday Book Club enrollment letters will go out in early October. Additional forms are available in the main office and media center in each elementary school.

For more information, call Beth Cavoli at 330-656-5608.

Music program fundraiser scheduled

The Hudson High School Music Association will sponsor its annual fruit, candy and cheesecake sale through Nov. 5, with delivery beginning Dec. 6. The proceeds from this sale are placed into a trip fund for Hudson High School music students. Call Doug Hauenstein at 330-656-0603 for more information.

These customers also can receive an unlimited number of large pizzas with unlimited toppings for $7 per pizza upon order pick up.
