"Main-Travelled Roads" which is having its regional premiere at Actors' Summit theater, will host the award winning composer and playwright at the Oct. 4 performance of the critically acclaimed musical.

Performances are Oct. 2, 3 and 4 at 8 p.m., and Oct. 5 at 2 p.m.

"Main-Travelled Roads," the winner of the 2007 Richard Rogers Award, is a romantic musical based on the short stories of Hamlin Garland. Garland was born in Wisconsin in 1860. He wrote a collection of short stories, published in 1891, titled "Main-Travelled Roads," and a 1894 manifesto, "Crumbling Idols."

"Main-Travelled Roads" was developed in part at the Stages 2006 Festival of New Musicals in Chicago and at Madison Repertory Theater's Fall Festival of New Plays. It was written by David Hudson and Paul Libman.

"We're thrilled that Paul Libman and David Hudson will be able to join us," said Sasha Thackaberry, director of the production. "It's rare for us to be able to have the creative team for a musical in attendance at a performance of their work."

Tickets to performances are $28 Friday and Saturday, and $25 on Thursday and Sunday. All full-time students with IDs are $7 at all performances. Seniors receive a $3 discount at the Thursday and Sunday performances.

Buy tickets by calling 330-342-0800 or at www.actorssummit.org.
