The Western Reserve Academy boys track and field team competed at the Cuyahoga Heights Relays May 3. Due to weather conditions, the final four events were not competed. The Pioneers were in first place with 70 points at that point. The following Reserve athletes placed in their events: Shot put: Brandon Besant (39 feet, 9 inches), Nicholas Hobbs (43-3) and Anthony Voss (38-9.5), second, 121-9.5 Discus: Joseph Bolognese (122-3), Nathan Kasper (117-4) and David Eppig (105-6), first, 345-1 Long jump: Phillippe Bosshart (19-6.5), Rene Silva (19-8) and Dong Lee Ahn (18-11), first, 58-1.5 Pole vault: Daniel Robillard (11-6) and Whoo-Joong Suh (12-0), third, 23-6 6,400 meters: Dean Burrier (4 minutes, 52.5 seconds), Derek Lake (5:14.9), John Hoover (5:05.4) and Stuart Horgan (5:10.7), first, 20:23 400: Bosshart (11.8), Silva (10.7), Joshua Sibley-Harris (10.8) and Besant (10.7), first, meet-record 44.0 3,200: Thomas Chmelik (2:18.6), Christopher Corbett (2:17.1), Kevin Moore (2:17.8) and Owunna (2:16.7), first, 9:10 Sprint medley: Suh (12.3, 100), Robillard (12.1, 100), Julian Degen (23.7, 200) and Bolognese (52.4, 400) WRA is set to conclude the season with the Interstate Preparatory School League Meet at University School May 10 in Hunting Valley at 1 p.m. -- From staff reports E-mail: stowsports@recordpub.com Phone: 330-686-3914 Comments
