May is Military Appreciation Month
The USO of Northern Ohio is recognizing Military Appreciation Month in May.
President Franklin D. Roosevelt established the USO as an organization to be a conduit between the American people and military in 1941. The Northern Ohio chapter has been responsible for providing programs to 10,000 local military members and their families in the 29 counties of Northern Ohio. The group has sent an average of 600 care packages per month to deployed military. With recent heavy deployments, the USO needs to triple its efforts.
People can donate to the local USO chapter online at www.usocleveland.org or mail a donation to: USO of Northern Ohio, 20637 Emerald Pkwy, Cleveland 44135. For donations to the care package program, call 440-454-2537.
