Hudson -- Burglars broke into a home on Hines Hill Road and took $6,000 in items during the week of April 6 while the homeowners were on vacation, according to a police spokesperson.Police reports indicate a relative of the family discovered a door window was broken and called police April 9. Items reported missing included a $250 computer monitor, a $500 diamond necklace, a $500 suit, a $1,000 42-inch television, a $1,200 46-inch television, a $250 mountain bike, a $2,000 laptop computer and $300 in cash. An investigation is pending. Drug possession April 13. Resident reports drug use: A Hudson resident reported a person in a car in a First & Main parking lot was using drugs at 9:26 p.m. According to police, a 20-year-old Hudson male was found smoking a rolled up cigarette, believed to be marijuana, in a parked vehicle. The man was cited for possession of marijuana and released. Operating a vehicle
April 13. Hudson driver arrested: A 44-year-old Hudson man was arrested on multiple charges after driving left of center on Hudson-Aurora Road at 2:46 p.m. According to the police report, an employee of a West Streetsboro Street business reported a driver who might be under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Police located the driver and charged him with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, driving left of center, endangering children and having a blood alcohol content of .362. The state limit on blood alcohol content is .08. Three children, ranging in age from 10 to 13, were passengers in his vehicle. The man was taken to the Hudson Police Department and later released on a personal recognizance bond. His vehicle was towed. Open burning April 12. Open fire observed: A police officer on patrol noted an open fire on a business property on Barlow Road. Firefighters extinguished the blaze shortly after 5 p.m. No damage was reported. No charges were filed. Trespassing April 12. Debris placed on railroad tracks: A Carver Lane resident said someone placed debris on the railroad tracks behind Carver Lane. The debris was removed. No damage was reported. Improper handling
April 10. Crash reveals concealed weapon: A 40-year-old Aurora man was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and improper handling of a firearm after a two-car crash on Darrow Road at Terex Road. According to a police spokesperson, the Aurora man's truck was rear-ended by a 30-year-old Hudson woman's vehicle, injuring his neck. EMS treated the man and took him to a local hospital. The loaded firearm was found in the vehicle as it was inventoried for a tow. Police reports indicate the man was cited for the firearms violations. The Hudson driver was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance. Indictment Hudson resident Dennis Charles McClelland was indicted April 3 on one count of felonious assault, a second degree-felony, and one count of domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony. He was arraigned before Summit County Court of Common Please Magistrate John H. Shoemaker April 11, where his case was sent to Summit County Court of Common Pleas Judge Paul Gallagher. No additional court date has been set. According to police records, McClelland was arrested Feb. 28 and charged with domestic violence and felonious assault after police received a call concerning a potential domestic dispute involving McClelland and his girlfriend, who was later hospitalized for a head injury.
