Hudson -- Thieves broke into a padlocked construction trailer on the grounds of a West Streetsboro Street church sometime during the night of April 6 and 7. An employee of a Lorain construction company said two padlocks were broken and three rolls of wire were missing. Loss was estimated at $300. Theft April 7. Medication missing: A John Clarke Lane resident said a bottle of his prescription medicine was missing. No estimate of loss was provided. A suspect was named. An investigation is pending. April 4. Two checks reported missing: An employee of a Corporate Drive business said two checks totaling $810.40 were missing. An investigation is pending. Identity fraud April 2. Man's information used: A Towbridge Drive resident said someone used her husband's personal information to open movie club accounts on March 28 and April 1 in his name without permission. No monetary loss was reported. Drug possession April 2. Hilliard man arrested: A 23-year-old Hilliard man was arrested in the parking lot of a bar on Darrow Road and charged with possession of suspected marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, a glass smoking pipe. While helping a locked-out driver back into his vehicle, an officer saw the Hilliard man, in another vehicle, light a glass pipe and begin to smoke. The Hilliard man was taken to the Hudson Police Department and later released on a personal recognizance bond. April 3. Neighbor complains of odor: Police cited a Bard Drive resident for possession of drug paraphernalia after a neighbor complained of an odor of marijuana emanating from the apartment. April 5. Traffic stop leads to weapon charge: Officers stopped a 45-year-old Bedford Heights woman for driving with a suspended license on Route 303 at South Oviatt Street. Police also charged her with having a concealed weapon, a knife, at 11:43 a.m. According to a police spokesperson, officers discovered the buck hunting knife in the car's center console, within reach of the driver. She was taken to the Hudson Police Department and later released on a personal recognizance bond. Operating a vehicle
April 5. Stow woman arrested: A 42-year-old Stow woman was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, driving under suspension and speeding after she was stopped by police on Seasons Road at 4:29 p.m. According to police, she was going 52 mph in a 35 mph zone. According to the police report, the woman refused to submit to a blood alcohol test. She was taken to the Hudson Police Department. She was later released on a personal recognizance bond. Discharging fireworks April 5. Neighbors complain of fireworks: A Wiliamsburg Circle man was warned about discharging fireworks after neighbors complained at 9:45 p.m. No charges were filed. Criminal mischief April 5. Juveniles annoy neighbor: A Kate Drive resident said juveniles knocked on her door three times in a row, then ran away. Disturbing the peace April 6. Dog owner cited: Police cited a Stoney Hill Drive dog owner for disturbing the peace after repeated calls about a dog barking at 4 a.m. According to the report, no one was at the home where the dog was barking. A citation was issued for the dog owner. Assault April 2. Police answer fight complaint: A 47-year-old Mantua man was arrested and charged with assault on a 51-year-old Kent man after an altercation at a Ravenna Road motel at 6:55 p.m. According to police, the Kent man attempted to collect rent from the Mantua man when the altercation began. The Mantua man was taken to the Hudson Police Department. He was later released on a personal recognizance bond. No injuries were reported. On April 3 at 2:06 a.m., that same Mantua man returned to the motel and was arrested again and charged with trespassing. He was taken to Portage County Jail.
