Seder service planned

The Messianic Passover Seder and Service will be April 19 from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at the Hudson Presbyterian Church, 201 W. Streetsboro St.

Tickets, available beginning in April, cost $10 per person, and seating is limited to 112.

Dinner, consisting of roast lamb, potatoes, green beans, and dessert, will be served during the liturgy in the Fellowship Hall.

This service is recommended for children 10 years and olds. The event is open to the public.

Chapel hosts
kids' event

Hudson Community Chapel, 750 W. Streetsboro St., will host its second "Breakout" night for third- through fifth-graders April 11 from 7 to 10 p.m.

The night will include inflatables, Nerf Dart Mega Tag, crafts, DDR, RC Car Racing, a wacky hair and nail salon, professional line and hip hop dance instructors, a photo booth, karaoke, Nintendo, junk food, live worship and a talk from the Chapel's junior high pastor, Todd Iannetta.

Tickets are $10 at the door.

However, those who register early at hudsonchapel.org can buy tickets for $7.

Parents can volunteer online when registering their kids.

Falls church
plans activities

A speaker from hospice will be at Pilgrim United Church of Christ April 6 following the 10:30 a.m. service to present a program called "What to Say to Sick and Dying People."

A light lunch is planned.

The youth from Pilgrim UCC who will be going to the Ohio Conference Summer Camps will host a Krazy Kamp Auction April 13 after the morning worship service. The money from this project will help defray the camp cost for the youth.

Pilgrim's singles group will enjoy chili, bread, and socializing April 13 at 6 p.m. in the social hall. This is a non-denominational group that welcomes all singles ages 30 to 65. A donation will be taken to cover the cost of the food.

The Church in Silver Lake offers services

The Church in Silver Lake, 2951 Kent Road, is a spiritual wellness center. The church offers a weekly Bible study class each Thursday at 12:30 p.m. The church also provides "Lunch On Us" the first Saturday of each month beginning at 11:30 a.m. The weekly Sunday worship service is at 10:30 a.m.

Temple plans
Purim Spiel

Temple Beth Shalom, 50 Division St. in Hudson, will present a Purim Spiel April 5, beginning with a pot-luck dinner at 5:30 p.m.

Guests should bring a dish to share, and the temple will supply paper products and drinks.

The dinner will be followed by a Purim Spiel (a parody skit) titled "Middle East Side Story" at 7 p.m.

It features Joseph Selinger as Haman, Amy McCormick as Queen Esther and choreography by Erica Deroche.

The spiel is directed by Ellen Friedman. Guests can dress in costumes. Make reservations by calling the temple at 330-656-1800.

Church hosts speaker

"Why spiritual healing is crucial" is the title of a lecture to be given April 13 at the Hudson Library and Historical Society.

The speaker is Ron Ballard from Ashland Ore.

He is a practitioner and teacher of Christian Science and a member of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship of The First Church Christ Scientist, Boston.

Ballard graduated with a degree in political science from Claremont McKenna College in California.

Ballard entered the full-time healing ministry of Christian Science almost 40 years ago.

He is a member of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship.

Ballard has spoken in hospices, hospitals, health expos, interfaith conferences, domestic and foreign policy organizations, youth organizations, conferences and college symposiums.

In his talk, he references the Bible and "Science and Health With Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.

He will discuss ideas on what constitutes healing, focusing on the need for spiritual regeneration and development, and the benefits of moving beyond physical care to spiritual restoration and well-being.

This talk is sponsored by First Church of Christ, Scientist, Hudson.

Hymn sing to be April 6

The Evangelical Covenant Church of Hudson, 190 W. Streetsboro St., will host a hymn sing April 6 at 7 p.m.

The community is invited.

The church will provide copies of "The Covenant Hymnal" to visitors.

Song requests will be taken. Refreshments will follow.

Jerry Bronco will be the organist at the event.

He is the organist at the Remsen Road Christian Church in Medina. Since 1993, he has been one of two resident organists for the "Jewel on Main Street," a Mighty Wurlitzer organ at the Akron Civic Theater.

He has served as organist with several Northeast Ohio churches, including Faith United Methodist in Twinsburg. For more information or to make a request, call 330-650-0564.

Men's club accepting scholarship applications

St. Mary's Men's Club is accepting applications for a $1,500 scholarship from any high school senior who is, or whose family are members of St. Mary Church in Hudson.

The scholarship is to be used for educational training at any college, university, seminary, convent or technical school.

Scholarship applications are available by sending an e-mail to GetApp@Jaeklegroup.com.

Instructions for submitting the application are included in the application.

The deadline for applying is 8 a.m. April 7.

St. Mary Church plans Charismatic Mass

St. Mary Church in Hudson, 340 N. Main St., will host a Charismatic Mass April 25 at 7:30 p.m.

There will be healing prayers following the Mass.

Community Chapel offers class for teens

Hudson Community Chapel, 750 W. Streetsboro St., offers a class for teens and young adults with special needs called "At His Table."

The class uses a curriculum designed to help each student with disabilities to grow in his or her faith at a comfortable level.

Prayer, fellowship, obedience and service are some of the themes covered.

Celebrate Recovery
at Hope Community

Hope Community Church, 3033 Middleton Road, is involved in "Celebrate Recovery," a Christ-centered group program to help people hurting. The program is designed to help free participants from addictive, compulsive and dysfunctional behaviors. This program will meet each Friday at 7 p.m.
