June Hamlin Williams, 89, of Hudson died March 25, 2008. Born to Henry and Maud Hamlin on July 10, 1919, in Sioux Falls, S.D., she graduated from The College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, Minn. as a registered dietitian. Her work took her to Cincinnati General Hospital, where she helped design a food service facility which she then supervised. Later, Mrs. Williams moved to Asheville, N.C., where she met and married James Pinckney Williams of Tryon, N.C. They had four children and lived in Greensboro, Charlotte and Burlington before moving to Raleigh in 1960. After her husband died in 1965, Mrs. Williams resumed her career working as a consultant dietitian with the North Carolina Department of Human Resources. Upon her retirement, she traveled to locations such as Alaska, Nova Scotia, Panama, Hawaii and the Caribbean. In 2005, she moved to Laurel Lake Retirement Community in Hudson. Mrs. Williams is survived by two sisters, Nancy McCormick (Mike) of Overland Park, Kan., and MaryAnn Williams of Asheville, N.C.; four children, Jimmy Williams (Karen Nichols), Henry Williams (Lizzie), Mike Williams (Mary Ellen), all of Raleigh, and Trish Rosner (Mike) of Peninsula; six grandchildren, Hank Williams, Sarah Brown, Michael Williams, Charlie Williams, all of Raleigh, and Andrew Rosner and Robyn Rosner of Peninsula; and eight nieces and nephews. A memorial will be at the Laurel Lake Retirement Community Chapel with interment in Tryon, N.C. Redmon Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Comments
