Harry L. Baab, 77, a Hudson resident for 50 years, died March 19, 2008, in DeLand, Fla. Born in Wayne Co. Feb. 13, 1931, he served in the U.S. Army Engineer Corps from 1949 to 1952 in Alaska during the Korean War. He married Dolores Horner in 1951 in Wooster. He was a heavy equipment operator for Kreger Excavating in Hudson and Kenmore Construction Co. in Akron. He was a collector of watch fobs and was one for the founding members of the International Watch Fob Association. Preceded in death by his brothers, George and Charles, and sister, Gaynelle, he is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dolores; son, Gary (Debra) of Streetsboro; brothers, James (Violet) of Green and Cove Springs, Fla., Nicholas (Edna) of Parkersburg, W. Va., and John of Burleson, Tex.; sister Bonnie of Arlington, Tex; granddaughters, Angelica, Heather, Tiffany, Stephanie and Kaitlyn; grandson, Gary; and great-grandchildren, Kerri, Jared, Hannah, Jayley and Carter. A memorial service will be at Streetsboro United Methodist Church, State Route 43, Streetsboro, April 5 at 11 a.m. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association and the March of Dimes.
