Candidates running for U.S. House of Representatives District 14 reported taking in more than $900,000 so far this year to pave their campaign trails, with the incumbent Congressman leading the way.

Between Jan. 1 and Feb. 13, Rep. Steve LaTourette (R-Bainbridge Township) collected $707,948 while dishing out $277,972 in campaign-related funds, leaving him with $569,818 cash on hand, according to the Federal Election Commission. LaTourette garnered donations from 245 individuals, 262 groups and one political party committee.

LaTourette ran unopposed in the March 4 primary.

The three Democrats competing for the party nomination were Dale Virgil Blanchard, John H. Greene Jr. and Bill O'Neill.

According to the FEC, between Jan. 1 and Feb. 13, O'Neill collected $209,538 while dishing out $115,427 in campaign-related funds, leaving him with $94,111 cash on hand. O'Neill garnered donations from 821 individuals and 21 groups.

Neither Greene nor Blanchard had financial reports listed at the FEC Web site as of Feb. 28.

According to the FEC Web site, candidates have to file finance reports "when his or her campaign exceeds $5,000 in either contributions received or expenditures made."
