by Laura Freeman Reporter The Democratic party was ahead in pre-primary contributions for the candidates running for Ohio House of Representatives District 42. The pre-primary finance reports for House of Representative candidates had to be filed by Feb. 21. They disclose contributions and expenditures from Jan. 1 through Feb. 13 in excess of $1,000. They were posted on Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner's Web site at the end of February. Mike Moran of Hudson was the only Democrat running, while Dennis Robart of Cuyahoga Falls and Richard Nero of Hudson competed for the Republican party nomination in the March 4 primary. Results of the primary were not available at press time. Moran reported he collected $10,368 before Jan. 1 from 20 contributors, including $200 he contributed himself. In kind contributions totaled $471, and no expenditures were listed. In the pre-primary report from Jan. 1 to Feb. 13, Moran added $10,855 from 20 contributors for a total of $21,223 in contributions. After spending $945 on ads and campaign stickers, Moran has $20,278. In kind contributions totaled $1,986. Robart reported no contributions and a $50 loan between Jan. 1 and Feb. 13. Nero collected $6,450 between Jan. 1 and Feb. 13 and spent $2,934, leaving a balance of $3,452. No details were available on expenditures. Nero contributed $5,000 of the $6,450.
