As co-executive directors of Hudson Community First, we are excited to bring the Take a Second. Make a Difference. awareness campaign to Hudson in 2008.

Research shows that only 26 percent of Hudson youth believe adults in our community value youth. Take a Second. Make a Difference. will change that statistic.

The nationally recognized program is based on any Hudson adult taking a moment out of their busy day to connect with our youth and to show them that Hudson cares about them.

A few ways community members can do this is by smiling at a group of teenagers they may not know, or learning the names of the children in their neighborhood or acknowledging a child's deed as well done. All are simple and requires a moment of time to make a difference.

Community First's year-long campaign will include: a peer-to-peer recognition program in the schools, an April Merchants Month where our local merchants get involved, outdoor summer activities, speakers and a communitywide recognition program where anyone can nominate an adult who they witness making a difference in a child's life.

Take a second. Make a difference. It's easy and it will make Hudson a better place.
