Residents of Boston Heights and Peninsula are facing a full ballot Nov. 6. In both villages, candidates are running for mayor, clerk-treasurer and Council positions. Council President pro-tem Bill M. Goncy and Council member Teri Slane are running for mayor of the village of Boston Heights. Incumbent Carol Zeman will face challenger Joani Hedderick in the race for the Boston Heights clerk-treasurer post. The term will commence April 1, 2008. There are two open seats on the Boston Heights Village Council on November's ballot. Incumbents Kevin M. Lightner and Janet L. Miller will face challengers Dawn Marie Brannan, Ron Dick and Scott Foss. Three people are running for mayor of the village of Peninsula. Incumbent Michael J. Kaplan will face challengers Bob Hrovat and Dick Fisher. Pamela S. Burda is running unopposed in the clerk-treasurer race for Peninsula. The term will commence April 1, 2008. Incumbents Grover Miller and Jay Pedone will face challengers Dee Holody and Jodi Padrutt in the November election for two seats on the Peninsula Village Council. Residents in the Valley Fire District, which mainly serves residents in Peninsula and Boston Township, will vote on a proposed 6.3-mill, five-year tax levy renewal. If approved, the levy, which is Issue 19 on the ballot, will commence in 2008. Comments
