Rejoice to host
Every Sunday afternoon this summer, Rejoice Lutheran Church will sponsor a free family event at the Streetsboro Knights of Columbus Hall, 9708 Page Road, called "Having a Blast in the 'Boro." The church will offer sporting events, games, activities, music and food from 3 to 5 p.m. The activity is the result of recent surveys in the area where respondents frequently expressed a need for fun, inexpensive activities for families. Golf challenge benefits youth ministry The fifth annual "Grip It and Rip It" golf challenge to benefit Young Life of the Western Reserve will be June 18 at the Walden Golf and Country Club in Aurora. The outing includes 54 holes of golf in a one-day marathon event, meals and prizes. Each player is asked raise a minimum of $1,000 in sponsorships and donations. Corporate sponsors are welcome. To register, call Jim Holthus at 330-656-1203. Churches hosting Vacation Bible Schools Grace Presbyterian Church, 781 Terex Road, will host "The Race is On" Vacation Bible School from July 16 to 20. Class will meet from 9 a.m. to noon daily and is geared toward children ages 3 years old to fifth grade. The week will conclude on June 22 with a luncheon cruise along the shores of Lake Erie aboard the Nautica Queen. There is an additional cost for this activity, and all VBS participants and their family members are welcome to attend.
