Rejoice to host
'Blast in the 'Boro'

Every Sunday afternoon this summer, Rejoice Lutheran Church will sponsor a free family event at the Streetsboro Knights of Columbus Hall, 9708 Page Road, called "Having a Blast in the 'Boro." The church will offer sporting events, games, activities, music and food from 3 to 5 p.m.

The activity is the result of recent surveys in the area where respondents frequently expressed a need for fun, inexpensive activities for families.

Golf challenge benefits youth ministry

The fifth annual "Grip It and Rip It" golf challenge to benefit Young Life of the Western Reserve will be June 18 at the Walden Golf and Country Club in Aurora. The outing includes 54 holes of golf in a one-day marathon event, meals and prizes. Each player is asked raise a minimum of $1,000 in sponsorships and donations. Corporate sponsors are welcome. Churches hosting Vacation Bible Schools

Grace Presbyterian Church, 781 Terex Road, will host "The Race is On" Vacation Bible School from July 16 to 20. Class will meet from 9 a.m. to noon daily and is geared toward children ages 3 years old to fifth grade. For more information, call 330-650-6548.

The Hudson United Methodist Church, 2600 Hudson-Aurora Road, invites children ages 3, by Sept. 30, 2006, and 4 years old, and children in first through fifth grades to become Sky Scouts at Vacation Bible School from 9 a.m. to noon June 25 through 29

Hudson Presbyterian Church will host SonForce Kids Vacation Bible School this summer.

The program will include skits, singing, games and crafts for children from 3 years old to those in fifth grade.

SonForce will be June 25 to June 29 at 201 W. Streetsboro St. from 9 a.m. to noon.

First Congregational Church of Hudson invites all children ages 3 through those in fifth grade, to Vacation Bible School -- "Paul: Ports of Call" -- from 9 to 11:30 a.m. June 18 through 21 at First Congregational Church, 47 Aurora St. The cost is $12 per child and a maximum of $36 per family.

The week will conclude on June 22 with a luncheon cruise along the shores of Lake Erie aboard the Nautica Queen. There is an additional cost for this activity, and all VBS participants and their family members are welcome to attend.

First Congregational Church of Twinsburg, 9050 Church St. in Twinsburg, will host a summer vacation Bible school June 18 to 22 called Great Bible Reef. There will be stories about Jesus, craft time, songs, skits, games and science activities. Sessions are from 6 to 8:30 p.m. each weeknight.

The fee is $10 per child, with a maximum fee of $25 per family.
