Hudson City Council members approve legislation at their June 6 meeting

City Council members President Hal DeSaussure, Dennis Hanink, Alex Kelemen, Casey Weinstein, Dan Williams and William Wooldredge approved the following legislation at the June 6, 2017, regular Council meeting.

Council member Beth Bigham was absent.

* Proclamation recognizing Hudson Festival Days, June 15-16 and the special events organized by the Hudson Garden Club, Hudson Society of Artists, Hudson League for Service, Leadership Hudson, Destination Hudson, and the Hudson Fire Department Association. Representatives Ron Stolle, Jill Centrello, Carla Maurer, Lynn Schmidt, Sue Conlin, Rosanne Thomas, Barbara Bos and Fire/EMS Chief Jerry Varnes were present to accept the proclamation.

*Proclamation recognizing June 21 as "The Longest Day" and June as Alzheimer's and Brain Awareness Month. Communications & Public Policy Coordinator Andrew DeFratis accepted the proclamation for the Alzheimer's Association, the Greater East Ohio Area Chapter.

*A resolution resolution authorizing the city manager to enter into a contract with GPD Group for $266,750 for engineering design and construction oversight services for the Prospect Substation Improvements Project which is in the 2017 budget.

*A resolution authorizing the city manager to enter into an agreement to transfer ownership of the water facilities within Canterbury on the Lakes, Phase 4, to the city of Akron; and declaring an emergency.

*A resolution to approve $3,900 to Security Voice Inc. for a Safe Community Helpline.
