Hudson High School spring awards concerts

Hudson High School Spring Awards Concerts are coming up this May. All concerts are at 7 p.m. in the Hudson High School Auditorium. The schedule is:

■ May 2 Orchestra

■ May 4 Band

■ May 10 Choir

Peg's Gallery newest exhibit to host artist May 3

Peg's Gallery art exhibition will feature a collection of pieces on Hudson's Sister City, Landsberg, Bavaria, Germany. There are also scenes from Austria and the historic Rhineland, done by artist Hilary H. Sheeter

There is a meet the artist reception May 3 from 4 to 6 p.m. and the exhibition runs through June 6.

Peg's Gallery is free and open to the public. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Annual Community Service Day May 6 for whole family

The annual community-wide Hudson Community Service Day sponsored by Hudson Community First, the City of Hudson, Hudson Kiwanis, First National Bank and the Friends of the Parks will take place on May 6 from 10 a.m. to noon.

The event is an opportunity for the whole family to work together and give back to our community through needed volunteer projects around the city. This year all participants should report for their assignments to Hudson High School at the Commons Door E between 9:15 and 10 a.m. to the registration table. At that time, volunteers will receive their assignment and a free T-shirt. Instead of a picnic following the service day tasks, coffee, water, juice and donuts will be available at registration and T-shirt pick up.

Preschool Parents grad celebration

Hudson Preschool Parents will host its graduation celebration May 6, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., at Hudson Montessori School, 7545 Darrow Road.

There will be crafts, stories and a party for preschoolers moving on to kindergarten. All are welcome.

GASP hosts Annual Spring Party May 7

Guardians Advocating Child Safety and Protection (GASP) will have its Annual Spring Party May 7, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Todaro's Party Center, 1820 Akron-Peninsula Road in Akron.

There will be dinner, drinks and music. There will be a guest speaker, a silent and live auctions, a raffle and door prizes.
