City Council legislative lowdown for March 21

City Council members Beth Bigham, President Hal DeSaussure, Dennis Hanink, Alex Kelemen, Casey Weinstein, Dan Williams and William Wooldredge approved the following legislation at the March 21, 2017, regular Council meeting.

A Motion to Acknowledge Receipt of the City of Hudson Emergency Operations Plan.

A Motion to Acknowledge the Timely Receipt of the February 2017 Monthly Financial Report

A resolution authorizing the city manager to enter into a two-year extension to the first amendment to the development agreement with Allstate Insurance Co. for the two-year economic development electric rate of $0.075/per kWh extension of agreement commenced on July 1, 2015 and will expire on June 30, 2017.

A resolution authorizing the city manager to enter into a purchase and sale agreement with Jim Mazzella, or his designee, for the sale of the real property located at 1239 Hudson Gate drive, Hudson, Ohio for $710,000 to SlewPro of Tallmadge; and declaring an emergency.

A resolution authorizing the city manager to enter into a contract for $224,812 with Thayer Power & Communications for the aerial installation and termination of fiber-optic cable for the purpose of providing Velocity Broadband services.

A resolution authorizing the city manager to enter into a contract for $137,860 with O.C.I. Construction, Inc. for the installation of an underground conduit system along with the installation and termination of fiber optic cable for the purpose of providing Velocity Broadband services.

A resolution authorizing the city manager, or her designee, to submit an application to the Summit/Akron Solid Waste Management Authority (dba Reworks) for a community recycling access grant up to $22,262 to support recycling services; and declaring an emergency.

A resolution authorizing the city manager to enter into an agreement for the purchase of materials and system components for the Splash Pad installation at Veterans Way Park; and declaring an emergency.

A resolution approving the application for placement of 32-acres of land in a current agricultural use district for purposes of O.R.C. 929.02 for Louis and Deborah Estergall, 3074 Ravenna St., Hudson, Ohio.

An ordinance amending Chapter 280 of the Codified Ordinances regarding the Community Television Advisory Committee's name, terms, term limits, and other general updates.
