Officials release name of man killed in Feb. 2 Seasons Road accident

HUDSON-- Officials have released the name of Stow man killed in the Feb. 2 Seasons Road head-on collision.

According to officials, Craig R. Fruth's 2001 Mercedes Benz was traveling eastbound on Seasons Road around 4:50 a.m. when it went left of center and struck head on the 2012 Chevy Traverse driven by a 25-year-old Stow woman.

Mr. Fruth was pronounced dead at the scene from head and neck injuries, according to the Summit County Medical Examiner's Office.

The woman was transported by Hudson EMS to Akron General Hospital with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts, according to police.

The accident is still under investigation by the Summit County Metro Crash Team.

Seasons Road, just east of the Route 8 ramp, was closed for more than three hours due to the accident. It was reopened at 8:18 a.m., according to the city.
