The deadline for residents to apply to become a trustee of the Hudson Library & Historical Society is approaching. Completed applications must be returned to the library by the close of day on Jan. 31. Application packets are available at the library circulation desk or at www.hudsonlibrary.org.
Hudson's library trustees are elected to three-year terms by the members of the library; any Hudson resident 18 years or older and holding a valid Hudson Library card is considered a member of the library.
The election of trustees is a regular part of the annual members' meeting. This year's meeting and election will be at the library on Feb. 19.
Anyone who submits an application and meets the qualifications will have their name on the Feb. 19 election ballot. Trustee qualifications include: 18 years of age or older; a resident of Hudson for at least two years; a member in good standing of the library, which means no outstanding fines; no conflicts of interest with the library in reams of service provided or financial interests; and, most importantly, a sincere interest in supporting and promoting the critical role that the library provides within the Hudson community.
This year's election will look to not only fill the normal three trustee positions elected each year, but will also look to fill one additional two-year trustee position.
Inquiries regarding the role of trustees, the election process, etc. should be directed to Anne Suntken, the Chair of the Nominating Committee by callling 234-525-8691 or email email@example.com.
