Hudson -- Residents who want to participate in the city's new natural gas rate program with Constellation Energy Gas Choice Inc. must opt in or enroll. They will not automatically be included even if they have participated in past programs.
Residents should have received a notice around Aug. 21 that explains the rate, terms and conditions and various methods of enrolling in the city's natural gas aggregation program, according to Jody Roberts, communications manager.
Residents can enroll by phone at 1-800-718-1493, mail, fax or on the Internet at www.constellation.com/hudson.
The city chose Constellation Energy Gas Choice Inc. to provide residents and small businesses with a low-cost natural gas supply, Roberts said.
A $4.34 per Mcf rate was set for gas consumed for the November 2014 through October 2016 bill cycles.
There is no special rate for seniors with this program, Roberts said.
At the time the city locked into the rate, the $4.34 rate was lower than any senior rate offer by other companies.
"We are delighted to secure such a low rate for our residents and small businesses," said City Manager Jane Howington. "Constellation's fixed rate is more competitive than other current, comparable term offers listed on Public Utilities Commission of Ohio comparison charts and will help residents control their natural gas costs."
Residents interested in joining the program should not call the city but should contact Constellation directly at 1-800-718-1493 or www.constellation.com/hudson.
