Legislative Lowdown for Aug. 6, 2014, Council meeting

Council members present: Hal DeSaussure, David Basil, Dennis Hanink, Alex Kelemen, Keith Smith, Dan Williams and William Wooldredge.

A motion directing the clerk to send notice to the Ohio Division of Liquor Control, indicating no request for a hearing regarding the transfer of a permit to sell alcoholic beverages from Tai Wah Inc. to Don Patron

A resolution authorizing the city manager to enter into an agreement with the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency for the North Main Street Demonstration project grant for storm and sidewalk improvements within the Downtown Corridor Improvement Project; and declaring an emergency.

A resolution authorizing the city manager to enter into a purchase agreement for two police cruisers per the 2014 Approved Budget to replace two existing police vehicles, model year 2010 for no more than $50,800; and declaring an emergency.

An ordinance amending the city's Classification Plan, Associated Compensation Plan, and Pay Rate Range to add the position of fire marshal within an appropriate pay range and to re-classify two positions in the fire department; and declaring an emergency.

A resolution authorizing the city manager to advertise for bids and to enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder for replacement video production equipment for the town hall meeting room; and declaring an emergency.

A resolution permitting bow hunting of deer on the former Youth Development Center ("YDC") property located on certain property on the south side at 996 Hines Hill Road for the 2014-15 deer hunting bow season.

An ordinance amending part 12 of the ordinances of Hudson to amend the official zoning district map to rezone Summit County tax parcel 3009586 which is south of Boston Mills Road at the corporate limits with the

Village of Boston Heights from "District 6 - Western Hudson Gateway" to "District 3- Outer Village Residential

Neighborhood Zone."
