Hudson -- A 59-year-old Valley View Road man will be in court Aug. 14 for a preliminary hearing after being arrested Aug. 6 and charged on two felony drug counts.
Police are crediting an anonymous tip for the arrest of William E. Degyansky at his home in the 7500 block of Valley View Road, and the subsequent haul of about 177 marijuana plants and other items used in the alleged home pot grow operation.
Police also seized 3 pounds of harvested marijuana, grow lights, a ventilation system, chemicals and other hydroponic equipment.
Degyansky was charged with illegal manufacture of drugs or cultivation of marijuana and trafficking in drugs, both third degree felonies, according to Hudson officials.
The exact value of the plants and drugs confiscated will not be known until it is tested and weighed at the Bureau of Criminal Investigation lab, according to Hudson Police Lt. Kevin May.
The plants ranged from 18 inches to five feet high, May said.
"It was a grow operation complete with hydroponic grow material, chemicals, lights, fans and an irrigation system," May said. "It's pretty simple, we received an anonymous tip, we obtained a search warrant through Stow Municipal Court and executed the search warrant and found the grow operation."
Police have also filed forfeiture paperwork for three vehicles that were on the property, May said. The vehicles are a 2012 GMC Yukon, a 2001 Chevy Tahoe and a 2006 Pontiac Solstice.
Degyansky posted a $50,000/10 percent bond after his Aug. 7 arraignment in Stow Municipal Court.
