Streetsboro -- As it has for the past 11 years, Streetsboro Family Days will provide four days of music, rides, games, food and fun at the end of July.

The festival, which takes place at Streetsboro City Park, located at the corner of Kirby Lane and Annalane Drive, runs from July 24 to July 27.

The festival hours are 4-11 p.m. July 24 and 25, noon to 11 p.m. July 26 and noon to 5 p.m. July 27.

While the festival features around 13 rides which will be provided by Big O Amusement Co., Chuck Kocisko, the festival's founder, said the highlight of the weekend is always the music.

This year's featured entertainer is five-time Grammy winner Marty Stuart. Stuart is a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist performing in the rockabilly, honky-tonk and country genres. He's toured with Johnny Cash and played with Bill Monroe, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins.

"We're always looking for an iconic entertainer," said Johnny Kocisko, president of Streetsboro Family Days. "We start looking at how many hits and awards they have. We didn't really have any country last year. We wanted to focus on country this year. We found [Marty Stuart], noticed he was touring and was able to fit him into Streetsboro."

Stuart will present his show free of charge July 26 at about 10 p.m., immediately following a fireworks display that's set for about 9:45 p.m.

The festival includes many other acts, including locals like The Michael Weber Show and Amanda Joy Hall.

The only cost to attend the concerts is $3 parking, said Chuck Kocisko.

In addition to the rides, a wide variety of clubs, businesses, crafters and more will be at the festival.

July 27 is Kids Day, when the first 200 children age 10 and under get free ride bracelets from noon until the end of the festival, courtesy of Bob Gerk of Precision Window Installations.

"They're there 8 to 8:30 in morning lining up," said Chuck Kocisko.

For those interested in some exercise, one of the featured events is the second annual Dave Giambrone 5K Memorial Run/Walk, which takes place from 8-10 a.m. July 26. University Hospitals is the race sponsor and the main festival sponsor, as well, according to Chuck Kocisko.

Giambrone died March 29, 2013, and had been a generous supporter of the community, said Chuck Kocisko.

He was instrumental in building dugouts at two ballfields at City Park, was involved in the school district's facilities project, renovated the high school gym after a 2010 fire and helped St. Joan of Arc Church whenever it needed help with its building, he said.

The race begins at Streetsboro Plaza on Route 303 just east of Route 14. Packet pickup and race day registration begin at 7 a.m.

Pre-registration is $15, and registration on race day is $20. Proceeds from the run benefit University Hospital's Rainbow Babies and Children Hospital in Cleveland.

Other highlights include various games and contests July 27, a bike and car show that day, as well as a dog show.

The bike and car show takes place at City Park and runs from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. when winners will be announced.

The dog show includes a parade of adoptable dogs, about 40 vendors, a K-9 demonstration and various contests. Canine activities run from 11 a.m. to about 5 p.m. July 27.
