The Summit County Sheriff's Department is still asking for the public's help in finding the person who took a laptop computer and a removable jump drive from a court reporter's office July 10 in the Summit County Courthouse in downtown Akron.

The items were taken around 4 p.m. from the office at 219 S. High St., according to Inspector Bill Holland.

"The laptop and jump drive contained sensitive case information, including information pertaining to ongoing cases," according to a Sheriff's Department news release. "The theft was caught on video."

Holland described the computer as "a standard laptop," with a value of around $500. "The subject left through the main doors at the Safety Building," according to Holland.

"The video shows a good portion of the subject's face."

The department is asking anyone with information about the theft or the identity of the person in the videos to call the Summit County Sheriff's Office at 330-643-8634.

Information which leads to the arrest and indictment of the subject could be eligible for a reward from Summit County Crimestoppers.
