Hudson -- On July 7, brothers Joe and Jeff Alexander were sworn in by Interim City Manager Scott Schroyer as part-time assistant fire chiefs. Joe joined the Hudson Fire Department in 1991, followed by Jeff in 1993.
"Between them, Joe and Jeff have more than 40 years serving the community as firefighters," Fire Chief Jerry Varnes said. "They have been valuable members of our department and of the community for many years. Both have tremendous knowledge, experience and talent, and they will be a great asset to us in their new leadership roles."
The part-time assistant chief positions were created to provide increased access for Hudson firefighters to on-site leadership for the largely volunteer service.
