The Summit County Sheriff's Department is asking for the public's help in finding the person who took a laptop computer and a jump drive from a court reporter's office July 10 in the Summit County Courthouse in downtown Akron.

The items were taken around 4 p.m. from the office at 219 S. High Street, according to Inspector Bill Holland.

"The laptop and jump drive contained sensitive case information, including information pertaining to ongoing cases," according to a Sheriff's Department news release. "The theft was caught on video."

The department is asking anyone with information about the theft, or the identity of the person in the videos, to call the Summit County Sheriff's Office at 330-643-8634.

Information which leads to the arrest and indictment of the subject could be eligible for a reward from Summit County Crimestoppers.
