Hudson -- Blossom Music Center is offering discount tickets to Hudson residents for the Aug. 3 concert, "Hollywood Under the Stars."

Last year was the first time Blossom offered a Hudson Community Night to welcome residents of communities near Blossom Music Center to enjoy the outdoor concert facility.

"We want to be more engaged with surrounding communities to Blossom, and Hudson is one of our strongest supporters," said Jerry Golski, group sales manager for the Cleveland Orchestra.

The "Hollywood Under the Stars" concert begins at 7 p.m. Aug. 3, and the Cleveland Orchestra conductor will be Richard Kaufman. Featured on trumpet will be Michael Sachs. The gates open at 4:30 p.m., and guests can bring a picnic supper and dine on the lawn or at numerous picnic tables.

The concert pays tribute to memorable music of blockbuster films, including selections from Forrest Gump, The Godfather, Gone with the Wind, The Magnificent Seven, Lincoln, Lawrence of Arabia, The Right Stuff and more.

"This is a great concert, and I am sure that the residents of Hudson will have a fun evening," Golski said.

Many people from Hudson attend the orchestra concerts and are involved in the committees for the orchestra, Golski said. And many of the musicians are from Hudson, he added.

Hudson residents will be able to purchase tickets at 20 percent discount by using the code "Hudson" online at clevelandorchestra.com, by phone 216-231-1111 or 800-686-1141 or at the Blossom ticket office Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. and from 1 through intermission on the day of the performance.

Children under 18 are free with an adult ticket and there is a limit of two free children per adult ticket. Shuttle transportation is available between the parking lots and lawns. If a lawn ticket is purchased and it rains, there is ample room in the back corners of the pavilion for seating.
