Hudson City Council legislative lowdown for May 7

Council members absent: Bill Wooldredge.

Honorary Resolution honoring the memory of Nora Lalomia, who worked for the city since June 1994 as secretary in the Zoning Department and as Board Clerk in the Community Development Department.

Proclamation for special recognition of 'Public Service Recognition Week' May 4-10 in Hudson.

Proclamation for special recognition of 'Bicycle Week' May 11-17 in Hudson.

Motion to support Hudson's permanent Safety Town Project with in-kind materials and work of $6,000 from Hudson Public Power and up to $4,000 from the Fire Department if donation goal is not met.

A resolution authorizing the city manager to enter into a contract with the State of Ohio for inspection services for the municipal bridges within the city; and declaring an emergency. The State of Ohio is providing a new funding program to perform bridge inspections and other services on Municipal bridges within the City of Hudson, Ohio at no charge to the city.

A resolution authorizing the city manager to enter into a contract with Asphalt Fabrics and Specialties Inc. for $20,910 for the 2014 road cracksealing program; and declaring an emergency.

An ordinance amending part twelve of the ordinances of Hudson to amend the official zoning district map to rezone Summit County tax parcel 3009586 which is south of Boston Mills Road at the corporate limits with the Village of Boston Heights from "District 6 - Western Hudson Gateway" to "District 3: Outer Village Residential Neighborhood Zone." Prestige Homes is seeking to rezone this property to enlarge The Reserve at River Oaks, its proposed subdivision east of this parcel.

An ordinance amending chapter 252, "Community Development Department," of the codified ordinances to adopt new section 252.04 to provide for the preparation of minutes for meetings of the city's Board of Zoning and Building Appeals, Planning Commission, and Architectural and Historic Board of Review. Minutes of these meetings would consist of both a brief written record and an audio/video recording record.

An ordinance amending sections 1042.03 and 1042.04 of the streets, utilities and public services code revising sewer rates for the municipality. Public hearing scheduled for May 21.

An ordinance amending ordinance no. 13-164 making appropriations for the current expenses and other expenditures of the city of Hudson during the fiscal year ending Dec. 31, 2014, by making additional and/or amended appropriations related to the first quarter of 2014.

An ordinance amending section 410.09, schedule IX, of the traffic code to add one 30 minute time-limited parking space on the east side of Parking Terrace Lane.

An ordinance establishing the residential development allocation for the 2014-2015 Annual Growth Management Allocation period at 125 for the 2014-15 allocation period under section 1211.07 of the codified ordinances. Public hearing scheduled for May 21.
